If your location is in a more remote area, you can choose to take a bus, as the MTR primarily connects to the city centre. If you have a lot of luggage and are far from a subway station, a taxi is the most suitable option.
Getting Around
Getting around in Hong Kong is easy since Hong Kong has many fast and efficient transportation tools, including buses, mini buses, trams, ferries, taxi, but one of the convenient ways is railways and trains.
Railways and trains
Generally, there are three types: the first is the MTR, operated by Hong Kong Railways; the second is the Light Rail, which mainly operates in the New Territories; and the third is the tram, which only runs on Hong Kong Island, from Kin Lai Shing to Shau Kei Wan. Trams seem to be for nostalgia and tourism, but they also have many passengers every day for short-distance transportation,
as long as you allow enough time, because they can be full even on weekdays.
In addition, there are the Airport Express and High-Speed Rail, which are mainly used for border crossings. Each route has its own designated color. As long as you follow the signs, understand the direction and destination, and change routes at the appropriate transfer stations, you can reach your destination smoothly and quickly.

The red line is the route from Tsuen Wan to Central. The blue line is from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan and so on. There are around eleven lines with color covering the three main districts in Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories.
Buses
Buses are available at the airport’s bus terminus, but you need to check which bus and the stop you should get off in advance. If not, it is easy to miss the bus stop or get lost at night.
Mini Buses
There are another transportation tools called mini buses. Usually it is cheap and fast, but it is not recommended if you come to Hong Kong for the first time. Since you may have to speak you are getting off at certain locations. The mini buses with green top run in fixed routes and red top run in a flexible way.
Taxi is another option. The fare is more expensive. Most of the drivers know English. If not, just type your destination on your cell phone so that they can search by Google map.
