Travelling in Hong Kong is easy. One of the most convenient ways is taking Mass Transit Rail (MTR). You can take MTR from the airport and get to your hotel as long as a station nearby. If your hotel is not close to the MTR stations, you can take a taxi. Then, you can travel around in the city.

Getting Around

Getting around in Hong Kong is easy since Hong Kong has many fast and efficient transportation tools, including buses, mini buses, trams, ferries, taxi, but one of the convenient ways is MTR.

The red line is the route from Tsuen Wan to Central. The blue line is from Kennedy Town to Chai Wan and so on. There are around eleven lines with color covering the three main districts in Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories.

You can take MTR from the airport and get to your hotel as long as a station nearby. If your hotel is not close to the MTR stations, you can take a taxi. Then, you can travel around in the city.

Buses are available at the airport’s bus terminus, but you need to check which bus and the stop you should get off in advance. If not, it is easy to miss the bus stop or get lost at night.

Taxi is another option. The fare is more expensive. Most of the drivers know English. If not, just type your destination on your cell phone so that they can search by Google map. There are another transportation tools called mini buses. Usually it is cheap and fast, but it is not recommended if you come to Hong Kong for the first time. Since you may have to speak you are getting off at certain locations. The mini buses with green top run in fixed routes and red top run in a flexible way.
