Today is Boxing Day, the second day of a public holiday, so everyone can relax. Various locations are decorated to be the most beautiful and attractive. Other than Habour City in Tsim Sha Tsui and Statue Square Garden in Central, here are some of the best-and most decorated Christmas places, including shopping malls and attractions in Hong Kong.

Just like during the Lunar New Year, the first two days are busy with visiting relatives and friends, and people don’t really get a break until the third day of holidays.

Boxing Day is the day after Christmas Day. In Hong Kong, shopping malls are still rushing to carry out Christmas and various promotions before Christmas and New Year, striving to achieve sales targets before the end of 2025.

Taikoo Cityplaza as the Most Decorated Christmas

The Sweetmas installation at Taikoo Cityplaza on Hong Kong Island is the largest Christmas installation and also the easiest to take good photos from. There are more than 5 to 6 photo spots. It features a giant inflatable candy doll and candy sticks that reach the height of the second floor. There are also game booths for children to play and interact with. It is clear that the mall has invested resources in this year’s Christmas decorations, making it definitely worth a visit and for taking photos. We select it as the most decorated Christmas places in 2025.

Combined with the Care Bears statues, they look like snowmen standing there.

Speaking of Care Bears, it’s a series of illustrations and greeting cards created by American illustrator Elena Kucharik for children’s books. According to online sources, it was printed by American Greetings in the 1980s, had a television animation, and also evolved into Teddy Bears’ stuffed toys.

Final Thoughts

Outdoor placement has its advantages; passersby will stop to admire and take photos, and the colors in outdoor photos appear more natural. These decorations don’t take up much space, but it’s a very stable method, placed in the pedestrian walkway, attracting many passersby to take selfies.

Christmas is a religious holiday, but it has also been commercialized, becoming a major shopping day. It has also beautified shopping malls, streets, and building facades. All the advertising designs and installations are done in December.

In fact, every shopping mall puts in a lot of thought and time to design and think of creative ways to stand out and attract more customers before and after the Christmas holidays.   Many companies are also trying to catch up on their sales at the end of the year and during the Christmas and New Year period.

Many shopping malls no longer just put up a large Christmas tree, but a Christmas decoration, some of which use branded or patented cartoon characters to make themselves stand out. The Taikoo CityPlaza and IFC malls mentioned above are full of creativity, for instance.

The Christmas atmosphere this year is good. Although there was an unpleasant fire disaster last month in Hong Kong, we must gradually forget the sadness and move on from the grief. Let us not forget the meaning of Christmas: to celebrate the birth of Jesus, to represent the beginning of life. I believe that Hong Kong can recover from this ordeal and return to normal life.
