Shatin New Town Plaza 新城市廣場

Exiting Shatin MTR Station is Shatin New Town Plaza, which is one of the largest shopping malls in the New Territories. With eight floors, it is also one of the oldest shopping malls.

This shopping mall is connected to Sha Tin Town Hall, the library, and three other medium-sized but newer shopping malls, namely Sha Tin Centre, Sha Tin Plaza, Lucky Plaza and Hilton Centre.

The shops in Shatin New Town Plaza are clearly categorized, with sporting goods stores concentrated on the fifth floor, fashion clothing on the fourth floor, and cosmetics stores on the third floor platform.

Parents and children took photos in front of the cartoon figurines in the plaza.

Walking out from the third-floor terrace, you’ll find a Snoopy’s World.

Turn left and you can also visit Shatin Centre, Shatin Plaza, and Lucky Plaza.

Going to the right, you will find a cinema and a Japanese cosmetics chain store.

This place used to be a roller skating rink called “Buns” which was the largest roller skating rink in Hong Kong.

After crossing another connecting bridge, you’ll find New Town Plaza Phase 3, a three-story shopping mall featuring restaurants, cosmetics stores, Decathlon for sporting goods, and a Yata Department Store. The shops in Phase 3 are smaller and more densely packed, a different style from Phase 1.

Go further and cross the bridge to reach Hilton Plaza, a popular shopping mall with a stationery store, supermarkets,  restaurants, etc.,

Since there are residential buildings upstairs, many people would come there. Overall, Shatin New Town Plaza is a shopping mall that combines multiple centers or shopping mall and even a community.
